We had a wonderful night on Battersea Power Station’s Coaling Jetty, hosted by The Turbine Theatre and Paul Taylor-Mills.
The Best of British was a live concert to raise us some much needed money with amazing talent from Londons’ musical theatre performing to a live band.
Singing songs by Elton John, Burt Bacharach, The Spice Girls, Robbie Williams, Amy Winehouse, Seal, David Bowie (and even Chas'n'Dave) amongst others, these amazing performers - who are still prevented from doing what they do best by the ongoing Covid-19 situation - gave their time up for free to step back on a stage and entertain us all.
The Thames has never rocked so much or had so much talent in one place - my goodness, how much we miss the theatre and the emotion of live performance!
And the venue was extraordinary - in the shadows of the four towers of Battersea Power Station and on a jetty out in the Thames (accessed by a bridge), it was a truly unique occasion for equally unique times - socially distanced and Covid secure of course! Take a look at our pictures!
Thank you so much to them all -

We look forward to a time when they can go back into the theatre and wow us all again - but in the meantime, we are so grateful and humbled for their support - and in such a wonderful location too!
Why not come and join our wonderful team of volunteers?
We can offer a range of opportunities for groups of young volunteers.
Come and be a groom for the day for our smallest residents.
