We were delighted to welcome over 100 people to the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Woking on Thursday 12th December for our Christmas lunch event. We were treated to some bubbles on arrival and then a delicious three-course meal to follow.
Our guest speaker this year was Lauren St John, a renowned author and conservationist. She entertained us all with hilarious stories of her own life growing up with horses but more importantly about the truly lovely relationship that she was able to build with them - something that we really understand at Mane Chance. Lauren is passionate about animals and her words resonated with us all. We thank Lauren for joining us and hope to work alongside her again in the future.
Our silent auction was nice and busy, as were our merchandise, raffle and tombola tables - not forgetting the Christmas table decorations made by Bob and sold in aid of the charity. This year, we introduced some items where guests could 'sponsor' some community sessions at the Sanctuary for those who otherwise would not be able to spend time with our horses. We were spoilt with the generosity of our diners and we look forward to organising some special experiences next year for our local community.
It really was a lovely event and was enjoyed by all - we are very grateful to all those who supported us by coming but also to Oberon Investments for their sponsorship of the event. Thanks must also go to Dawn and Bob who lead the organisation and to the hotel for having us!
What a lovely day to spend with friends in the lead up to Christmas......
Why not come and join our wonderful team of volunteers?
We can offer a range of opportunities for groups of young volunteers.
Come and be a groom for the day for our smallest residents.
