Our community volunteer, Di, has been part of Mane Chance since 2015. Initially starting as a weekly volunteer, over the next couple of years, Di took on additional roles of running the charity merchandising and organising volunteers for fundraising events. But then when we started to expand our community work, Di took on more responsibility and has been instrumental in growing that side of the charity too - organising and running Open Sundays, establishing relationships with local care homes (particularly Queen Elizabeth Park) and helping out with visits. She is also head chicken keeper at Mane Chance, often found cooking pasta for our feathered friends first thing in the morning to keep them warm and healthy!
We were thrilled when Di was nominated for a Volunteer Service Award at Surrey County Council and even more delighted when she was invited to an awards ceremony and presented with a certificate and medal.
Many congratulations Di - we are extremely proud of you - you very much deserve this recognition! Thank you for all that you do for Mane Chance - and don't go anywhere please!
