Parental Consent
  • Any student taking part in sessions at Mane Chance Sanctuary will be supervised throughout the entire visit by the nominated staff member(s) and will not be left alone at any time.  This will ensure the maximum possible safety of the child at all times whilst on site.
  • All students will be given an initial safety briefing during their first session and relevant information will be reinforced prior to spending time with any of the horses, completing activities on site or entering the tracks and fields via the electric fencing.
  • Activities completed by the student whilst on site may involve time spent both observing and working with the horses directly.
  • Students need to arrive on site wearing both clothing and footwear suitable for the current weather conditions and for the outside environment of a farm.
  • Specialised protective equipment (safety hats) and gloves will be provided by the Sanctuary.  When students are working closely with the horses, they will be required to wear hard hats and gloves.
  • Whilst it is not considered essential for the activities involved, back protectors are also available on request.  Please let us know if you would like your child to wear one.
  • We have appropriate risk assessments in place for all our activities at Mane Chance Sanctuary.  Copies can be viewed or obtained from the Sanctuary office.
  • A qualified first aider will be on duty at all times whilst the student is on site.  All staff and volunteers involved with the visit of the student will have been DBS checked.
I understand the above and give permission for my child to attend sessions at Mane Chance Sanctuary.
