Duncan

Height 9.2 hh
Date arrived at Mane Chance 2017

Description in one word Loyal
Equine best friend: Hamish

Duncan, Teddy and Hamish came to us as a ready-made herd when their owner’s circumstances changed. They had grown up together having initially been rescued from a truly awful breeding site and they needed to stay as a threesome.  We were delighted to welcome them and give them this security.  Duncan was just a foal when he was first removed from the breeding site, so he appears to have little memory of the abuse that they suffered.  Duncan and Hamish have a particularly close bond, which sweetly has not lessened since coming to us and Duncan is definitely Hamish’s wingman.  Duncan is a well-adjusted, nicely confident pony which means he is a lovely addition to our Shetland team.  He is terribly calm with visitors, patient and willing for a groom or scratches and has a real place in the work that we do with young people.  His gentle charm means that we often see some really lovely moments between him and visitors as he teaches them how truly special the horse and human connection can be.
