Freya was sent from pillar to post and ended up being rescued because her owners kept trying to ride her, not realising that she had kissing spine and was in so much pain that she would do her very best to stop anyone from mounting her. When she first arrived, Freya was a bit of a loner in that she preferred to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the herd, but just close enough to be aware of everything that was going on. She remained equally aloof with the staff and volunteers – whenever they were in the field poo picking, she would stand just out of reach and not approach for fuss and attention like the others. However, with patient one to one time, she started to understand how nice gentle human interaction can be and she has formed some really lovely relationships with the team over time. We are delighted to be closer than ever to Freya now and to see the truly gentle and wise being that she is.
