Tailor

Tailor was one of three foals that were abandoned with no food or water in a field that opened onto the A3.  They were so poorly when we picked them up that they would quite probably have collapsed and died within a week.  They were in a terrible state of starvation and dehydration and we had to work slowly with them to get their bodies back to health.  Since that terrible time, we have watched Tailor grow into one of the gentlest horses you could wish to meet.  He is the calmest and the smallest of the three and is distinctive in the field as he has the most unusual crinkled mane and tail.  But it is his character that shines the brightest – Tailor is such a kind, calm horse who has lots of love to share.  Quite often, with a few minutes gentle stroking of his nose, he can snooze in the arms of whoever is making a fuss of him.  But don’t be fooled – Tailor is no pushover, he can play and run as hard as the others and he loves a game with them – it’s just that the softer side of him is so often on show too.  Everyone who meets him adores him instantly and he has a very special place in our herd at the Sanctuary.  What a journey this young horse has been on!
